What MDF actually protects against
Minimum defence frequency is the share of a defending range that must continue against a bet, so that betting with any two cards can’t show an automatic profit. It follows directly from pot odds: MDF = pot / (pot + bet). The fold equity calculator works the other side of the same identity: it gives the fold frequency a bluff needs to break even, bet / (pot + bet), which is exactly the share of your range MDF says you cannot afford to fold. The two always sum to one.
How the spots are built
Each question draws a bet-to-pot ratio and the correct MDF% is computed from the formula itself, not typed in by hand. The ten spots are the same ten every time, in the same order, so the point is not to be surprised by them: it is to reach the answer from the ratio quickly enough that you no longer need to. The four choices are shuffled per question, with the wrong options drawn from the same table of common bet sizes.
Frequently asked questions

- How is the correct answer worked out?
- Directly from the MDF formula for the bet-to-pot ratio shown, computed from the ratio itself rather than authored by hand, so it is right by construction.
- How many questions are there?
